On December 13, 2025, Stokes County 911 dispatched Walnut Cove Fire & Rescue, along with South Stokes, Salem Chapel, and Belews Creek, to respond to a reported structure fire on Rosebud Road. Heavy, dark smoke was visible from Walnut Cove Fire Station. Upon arrival, the initial officer from South Stokes reported a two-story residence with substantial fire involvement at the rear of the structure, as well as a leaking propane tank.
